Job Description :

HukariAscendent is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and other Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities. 




We are seeking a Technical Writer.  The Technical Writer's responsibility is to create, review and publish technical documentation and manuals. Collects and interprets technical information and coordinates layout for publications. The position requires a minimum of an associate degree and reports to a manager. The Technical Writer contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. 


 


Responsibilities



  • Create formal documentation


o   Using supplied technical inputs from a technical representative.


o   Following Client formatting and writing procedures.


o   Collaborate with technical representatives to ensure the completeness of documentation.


o   Facilitate the release process with document control.



  • Review formal documentation


o   Check text for style, readability, and


o   Confirm adherence to Client's Power Writer’s Guide and Guidelines for Writing Procedures..


o   Correct any spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors in technical reports


o   Correct formatting per the Client's document template or procedure.



  • Responsible for development and review of multiple technical document types such as:


o   Template generation


o   Technology Maturation Plans


o   Test Procedures


o   Test Plans


o   Technical Requirements documents


o   Manuals



  • Supports configuration management and familiar with document control software 


Duration: ~ 12 months.

Required Qualifications :

Required Qualifications and Skills  



  • A bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or Communications preferred.

  • At least five (5) years working with highly technical documents related to nuclear industry or technology development.

  • Detail oriented and able to focus on large, complex documents with short turnaround times.

  • Knowledge of standardized technical document styles preferred.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with engineers and scientists in a collaborative manner.

  • Proficient at Microsoft Office Suite, preferably Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Familiar with document control software.

  • Strong communication skills desired.

  • The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

  • Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.
