HukariAscendent is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and other Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities. 


HukariAscendent is looking for a Senior Criticality Safety Engineer to support the MSTS “Criticality Safety Review Committee,” whose purpose to provide an enduring advisory board to support the MSTS Nuclear Criticality Safety Program (NCSP) and management. This support shall include technical review and policy guidance including review of Nuclear Criticality Safety Evaluations (NCSEs) and compliance with Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) requirements in fissile material operations; advice and mentoring on professional development, training and qualification of NCS Engineers; and assurance of the use of industry best practices and compliance with DOE-STD-3007-2017, “Preparing Criticality Safety Evaluations at Department of Energy Nonreactor Nuclear Facilities,” and American National Standards Institute/American Nuclear Society (ANSI/ANS) 8 standards.

The period of performance: March through December 2020.

Work Location: NLV, Intermittent work (120 hrs)

Required Qualifications :

BS in Nuclear Engineering, prefer a graduate degree. 

10+ years of experience in Criticality Safety and 5+ years in leadership.
