HukariAscendent is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and other Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities.
We are seeking a Project Manager to manages all aspects of complex technical projects comprised of design/build and build to print projects for a range of clients (e.g. DOE, DOD, NNSA, National Laboratory, Pharmaceutical companies, etc.) per the contracted scope of work consisting of codes, specifications and drawings. Develops, plans, coordinates, and manages project activities to ensure that goals and objectives of the projects are accomplished – on time, on budget and meeting quality requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establishes detailed project plans for each phase of the project and identifies key resources required to support and execute the project.
• Identifies key metrics for budget, schedule and quality objectives and implements project control tools to evaluate project performance against these key metrics at various phases of the project (i.e. during design, manufacturing, close-out, etc.).
• Actively drives and manages projects and project teams to ensure we are delivering expected outcomes and meeting or exceeding key project metrics.
• Communicates project plans to customers, project team members and department leads to ensure clear understanding of project scope and project metrics.
• Works with department leads to develop project staffing plans and ensure key personnel and resources are available for project execution.
• Performs risk analysis and develops risk mitigation plans for projects.
• Manages customer expectations and effectively communicates project status, dependencies, issues and risks to customers.
• Develops strong, long-term customer and industry relationships.
• Ability to lead and direct cross-functional teams to include engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and outside contractors.
• Must be able to read, understand and manage contracts and contract documents in the execution of the project.
• Manages project scope through all phase of the project lifecycle and implements changes notices as required to address customer changes or omissions.
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering or related discipline with at least 4 years’ experience leading projects/programs.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
• Must have at least 7 years of experience managing complex projects in excess of $5M.
• Familiarity or experience working within a regulatory quality program such as NQA-1, ISO-9001 or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Background in stainless steel fabrication and custom equipment development is highly desirable
• Prefer experience with Government programs or projects (i.e. DOE, DoD, NNSA) and/or experience with nuclear related programs or projects.

• Ability to read and interpret 2D fabrication drawings and 3D parametric CAD models including Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Ability to read and interpret a variety of technical specifications, government regulations, quality requirements and read and interpret drawings.
• Practical technical knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes and capability of the machines and equipment used in those processes.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all organization levels both internally and externally.
• Ability to effectively organize and present project information including options, alternatives and recommendations to the customer and senior management.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments.
• Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction and priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Project.
