Mechanical Piping Engineer (MPE) 2024-504 HAINC-PB

Provide CNS, Mission Engineering with full time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat3 facilities. The responsibilities for the design engineer are:

• Provide design output documentation to support major facility modifications, minor facility modifications, and/or Project Engineering. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.


•  Ability to develop designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.


• Develop construction specifications for piping systems with various materials and requirements.


• Works with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.


• Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable. Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.


• Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees. 


• Must be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.

• Requires an ABET accredited BS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus five (5) or more years of relevant professional experience or a MS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus five (5) or more years of relevant professional experience.


•  A Q clearance or ability to get one is required.

Duration: 1 Year with 2 option years
