We are seeking qualified candidates to perform the following:
Duties:
Plan, develop, implement and administer a variety of broad or unique technical or programmatic functions in direct support of engineering, scientific, or computing related activities and functions. Provide technical guidance, direction, oversight, and leadership to a functional work group(s), section or unit in a technical support capacity. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or act in a predominantly lead capacity and may direct the work of others in a non-supervisory capacity.
May perform program/project analysis and interpretation. Evaluate the results of programs and prepare reports and recommendations based on these evaluations. Identify and recommend improvements where existing or established technology components and methodology are inadequate for solution. Keep informed of the advancement of technology as applied through one's area of expertise.
May provide limited guidance to exempt employees and general guidance to nonexempt employees. Assists less experienced personnel with more difficult aspects of work and provides guidance to less senior employees to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies. Plans, prioritizes and coordinates work for others in order to meet unit or work deadlines. Operate under tight deadlines and may be subject to extreme workloads.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field and at least 15 years of experience relevant to the functional technical area supported. Associate’s degree and 18 years relevant experience. High School Diploma and 20+ years of relevant experience.
Experience/Skills: A complete and comprehensive level of knowledge and understanding approaching the mastery level of all aspects of the functional area assigned is required, including specific knowledge of a facility, area or location supported, where appropriate.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of all pertinent policies, practices, procedures, DOE orders and regulatory statutes which impact the function or facility supported is required. Understands and applies discipline's advanced theories, concepts and art; working knowledge of related disciplines. Recognition as an expert.
Key Experience/Skills include:
· ASNT Level III in one or more of the following Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques: Radiographic Testing (RT), Electromagnetic Testing (ET), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Visual Testing (VT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Leak Testing (LT).
· Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in in NDT supporting the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE).
· Prior experience with the installation, commissioning, and/or readiness of NDT equipment in Hazard Category II nuclear facilities within the NSE.
· Minimum of ten (10) years of experience supporting pit production.
· Minimum of five (5) years of program management and oversight of an NDT organization responsible for the inspection of plutonium, uranium, or other War Reserve components for the US nuclear stockpile.
Duration: 12 months with possible extension(s)
