We are seeking a 3D-PDS Plant Designer to support to the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) project as a Plant Designer (Technical Support Specialist 4). Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, 3D modeling using Plant Design System (PDS) “Piping and Equipment” software, design development, and generation of design output documents. 







Period of Performance: 12 Months (2000 hours S/T and 200 O/T per year)

Required Qualifications :
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 



Education: 



  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree with 6-8 years of related experience or associated degree with 10-12 practical years of experience.


Experience/Skills:



  • Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of National Codes and Standards for design such as ASME B31.3 and NFPA 101. (Preferred)

  • Candidate must demonstrate 10 years of experience as a Plant Designer in nuclear or process chemical industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience working at one or more DOE facilities.

  • Experience in 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) .

  • Ability to work independently and within a multi-discipline team.

  • Candidate must demonstrate experience with site layouts, piping layouts, piping layouts, electrical commodity details, HVAC duct and equipment lay outs, material handling and vendor document reviews.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance.

  • Significant experience using PDS “Piping and Equipment” software is required.


Area Security Access: Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (“L” or “Q”) within the past two years are preferred.
