Job Description :

HukariAscendent is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and other Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities. 


We are looking for qualified candidates to perform the following:

• Monitors project controls within discipline. 

• Reviews design documents of equipment manufacturers or subcontractors of a moderate degree of complexity and prepares comments and recommendations. 

• Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders.

• Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction. 

• Receives technical and administrative supervision from an Engineering Supervisor. Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions. 

• Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of acceptable methods and judgment. 

• Contacts counterpart in other disciplines, supplier/client representatives and project field personnel when directed, to either gather or give information. 

• Performs work, generally within one discipline, which involves the preparation, interpretation or review of calculations, specifications, plans, investigations, surveys, structures, systems or equipment with relatively few complex features. 

• Participates in one or more of the following: Equipment design and development, System design, including concept sketches and layouts, Testing of materials, Preparation of specifications and design calculations, Reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data by other engineers or by suppliers, Preparation or review of engineering studies and reports, Preparation or review of material quantity estimates, Uses engineering computer aided design/computer aided engineering (CAD/CAE) tools, Prepares letters for replies to vendor correspondence.


Period of Performance: ~ 12 months.

Required Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications: 

• BS degree in chemical engineering from an accredited college or university with a minimum of one year of related experience or in lieu of degree seven years of relevant technical experience. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems. 

• Knowledge of project controls within discipline. 

• Good knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the particular engineering discipline. 

• Basic skill in oral and written communication. 

• Possess the legal right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.

• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education. 

• Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. 


Preferred Qualifications: 

• Currently holds an EIT or FE certificate. 

• Experience as a process engineer at a major commercial, industrial, or nuclear facility 

• Experience working on the design of nuclear or chemical process facilities 

• Experience working on DOE or DOD government projects 

• Understands the application of Engineering Department Procedures, relevant Bechtel design guides.
