Job Description :

HukariAscendent is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and other Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities. 


HukariAscendent is looking for Nuclear Readiness SMEs to assist the MSTS Readiness Manager by working with peers, laboratories and other MSTS organizations acting as the lead individual to coordinate program and project execution for Management Self Assessments associated with nuclear readiness activities. Adhere to Department of Energy (DOE) Order O 425.1D, "Verification of Readiness to Start Up or Restart Nuclear Facilities"; NFO O 421.X1, "Nuclear Facility Safety Management"; and DOE Standard STD-3006-2010, "Planning and Conducting Readiness Reviews." Determine level of confirmed readiness and scope of tasks required to attain operational readiness. Develop plans, reports, and project schedules per established program objectives and budgets.

Period of Performance: August 2021 thru December 2021, with potential to extend – work will be intermittent based on schedule for Readiness activities.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in field related field to the position or equivalent training and experience, plus at least 14 years’ related experience. Additionally, 8 years’ experience in project management, readiness assessments and Independent Verification Reviews; knowledgeable of DOE O 425.1D, DOE Standard 3006-2010, DOE O 426.2, "Personnel Selection, Training, Qualification, and Certification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities"; and DOE O 422.1, "Conduct of Operations," requirements; nuclear operations or nuclear maintenance such as those found at a DOE nuclear facility, commercial power plant, or U.S. Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program. Working knowledge of Nuclear Maintenance (DOE O 433.1V), and Quality Assurance requirements (DOE O 414.1D). Experience working with requirements-based systems/programs is required which may include nuclear facility management, nuclear operations, maintenance/engineering, radiation protection, safety, nuclear training and qualification management, conduct of operations, nuclear operations, nuclear safety, criticality safety, project management and readiness and nuclear startup. Excellent communication and writing skills.
