HukariAscendent is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and other Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities. 

We are looking for 
Waste Management Acceptable Knowledge Experts to perform actions and duties associated with the position of Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) Acceptable Knowledge Expert {AKE). This position is primarily responsible for evaluation of historical information from various transuranic radioactive waste generators across the Idaho National Laboratory {INL) and those off-site generators who sent waste to the INL; to determine waste acceptability for processing/treatment and subsequent transport and disposal. These activities include but are not limited to:

  • Generation and/or review of Waste Stream Profile Forms (WSPFs), Acceptable Knowledge Summary Reports (AKSRs), and Acceptable Knowledge Assessments (AKA) as defined in the WIPP WAC and WAP.

  • Assisting Operations with characterization, processing, treatment, and disposition activities with available acceptable knowledge information.

  • Generation and maintenance of AK documents as required.

  • Review of operating procedures, generation and maintenance of documents supporting waste certification.

  • Other AK related activities as identified by AK lead, peers and management.

Required Qualifications :

Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, plus 5-years relevant experience in transuranic waste disposition or 10-years relevant experience in radioactive or hazardous waste disposition
